PS - They might be undead, but even zombies lose real credits when their skull is bashed in, so watch out for those pesky humanoids.
In the year 11342 AD, the only population left on NT21GNW were the mining workers, their families, and the small makeshift town that had sprung up around the only economy on the large moon. The climate was not habitable, and they were glad for the electro-grav bubble that encapsulated most of the rocky terrain, and they were also glad it used solar radiation to produce energy. It was highly efficient, and their storage battery arrays were always full.
Despite the positives, the mines were no longer in use. About two hundred years ago, there occurred an entirely unexpected and freak accident in an underground lab. Officially, the lab did not exist, so no one was able to probe into it, but within a few months it was clear that an unsanctioned Reality Wave Simulator had malfunctioned and had collapsed into itself. The hyper-phase crystal cracked and sent powerful shockwaves in all directions, identical to a small, hand-carried unreality bomb going off in an enclosed space.
Nothing has been the same since then. Now, ten generations later, the surviving species can not be called human. Animals and birds are no longer what they once seemed to be. Terrifying but strangely beautiful creatures roam the lands with surreal grace, alongside hideous mutants that feed upon their own kind and live in filth.
